Yiro Gyro Takeaway. Yiro Gyro yields one of the best gyros I've found in the St. Louis area so far. I give it an 8.1/10, with killer tzatziki sauce that perfectly balances creamy thickness with bold dill flavor, and seriously crunchy fries that rival the best I've had.
If you're already out shopping at the outlets in South County, this is absolutely worth stopping by for lunch or dinner. The service was quick, the owner was friendly, and parking is easy in the strip mall lot. It's a half hour from my house, so I'm not making a special trip just for a gyro, but if I'm ever out that way again, we're definitely coming back.

Yiro Gyro Experience Summary
[[SUMMARY]Fenton Gyro Experience Summary
My wife and I stumbled into Yiro Gyro after a very 40-year-old date night. You know the kind. You get a last-minute babysitter, run errands at the Pottery Barn Outlet, and squeeze in dinner somewhere between the shopping bags and exhaustion.
Romance.
We're both huge fans of gyros and Mediterranean food in general, so when we saw Yiro Gyro had solid reviews, we figured we'd give it a shot. The only catch? It's a half-hour from home in what is essentially a labyrinth of outlet and strip malls. So it won't be part of our regular rotation.
Yiro Gyro (or Gyro Gyro or Fenton Gyro, depending on where you search) turned out to be one of my favorite gyros in the area. Maybe the favorite I've had so far.
Now, in full transparency, I've only tried two or three other gyro spots around St. Louis, and I found them relatively substandard compared to what I grew up eating in New Jersey. So the bar wasn't exactly sky-high going in.
Yiro Gyro cleared it easily.
The tzatziki sauce was the killer app here. A good tzatziki can quite literally make or break any Mediterranean dish, and in this case, it absolutely made it. Thick but still creamy, with a great taste of dill and spices that didn't overpower the rest of the gyro. You could still taste the meat, the onions, the lettuce, and the tomato.
Everything about it made my taste buds happy.
My only complaint? I could have personally gone for more tomato, but my wife doesn't like them. So I did what any good spouse does. I stole her tomatoes (and onions).
Marriage is all about compromise, right?
The fries were top notch too. They're the kind with a little extra breading on the outside that makes them extra crunchy. I've only found comparable fries at one other place we stop at on the way to Branson, and those are really good. So that's high praise.
All in, we paid about $30 for two gyros and fries, which is exactly what we wanted for a solid dinner. Not breaking the bank, not cutting corners. Just good food at a fair price.
And honestly? If you're out shopping at the outlets and trying to avoid another boring chain like Applebee's, Yiro Gyro is the move. It's convenient, it's quick, and it's exactly what you'd expect from a hole-in-the-wall spot in a strip mall.
The Food At Gyro Gyro
Let's talk about what really matters. The food.
The gyro itself brought me back to my NJ days. The gyro meat was flavorful and well-seasoned, the vegetables existed to compliment the meat, and the pita brought the soft, fluffy warmth you'd want in a Gyro.
But the real star of the show? That tzatziki sauce. I can't stress this enough.
It was thick, creamy, and packed with dill flavor without being overwhelming. You could still taste every other ingredient in the gyro, which is exactly how I think a gyro should be.
The chicken gyro looked solid, too, athough I didn't try it. My wife got that, and based on how quickly she demolished it, I'd say she liked it.
The fries deserve their own paragraph. These aren't your standard fast food fries. They've got a light breading that gives them an extra crunch, and they were cooked perfectly. Golden, crispy, and addictive. For an extra $4, they're absolutely worth it.
A gyro runs about $12, and fries are $4. For two people, you're looking at around $30 total, which feels totally fair for the quality and portion sizes.
They also had baklava, which looked really good. My wife and I aren't huge baklava fans, so we didn't grab any, but if that's your thing, it's worth considering.
Yiro Gyro Atmosphere And Miscellaneous
The inside of Yiro Gyro is pretty plain, which is exactly what you'd expect from a spot like this. The focus is clearly on the food and the cooking, not on creating some fancy dining atmosphere. But it was clean, which matters.
The tables were simple with minimal decor, but that's fine. I was here for the gyros, not the ambiance.
The service was pretty speedy. There was one person ahead of us in line, and they had a bunch of call-in orders, but we still got our food within 10 to 15 minutes. No issues.
The owner was super nice and chatty, and the two guys working there clearly knew what they were doing.
Parking At Fenton Gyro
