K-Bop Takeaway You can bop in and out of K-Bop for a solid, quick Korean BBQ bowl. I give it a 7.2/10, which is great if you're nearby and hungry. It's reminiscent of Soul Taco but with its own distinct flavor. While I wouldn't drive there from home 15 minutes again, K-Bop is a tasty and affordable lunch with lightning-fast service for under $15.
Located on the far east side of Delmar near the Pageant, I parked in the dedicated lot next door. There was no one else there around noon on Thursday, so got the food fast and hot.
K-Bop Experience Summary
I got K-Bop the other day with my buddy at lunchtime. It reminded me a lot of Seoul Taco, but with a different flavor profile.
It's the same kind of Korean barbecue bowl, but with their own special twist on it.
Overall, I gave it about a 7.2 / 10. It was a quality lunch, not somewhere I would drive 20 minutes to go grab and go out of my way to get. However, if you are on Delmar and want that side of Delmar, you want to grab some lunch, it'd be a good option for you.
Service was super fast. We arrived at around 12:30 on a Thursday, and it was empty. It was like us and one other couple eating.
So, our food came out in under 10 minutes, in a nicely packaged bowl.
The atmosphere was "hip" and unique. Like you might expect from a new-age fusion restaurant where lunch costs $15.
The Food At K-Bop
I got the Spicy Pork, and my buddy got the Beef Bulgogi. I think we both agreed that the taste profile of the Spicy Pork was better than the Beef. Both came on a bed of rice with vegetables, making for a solid lunchtime treat.
Overall, we both enjoyed the food, but there wasn't anything particularly unique or different or otherworldly about K-Bop. With all the amazing Asian food options on Delmar, like Corner-17, it's hard to stand out generally.
My Spicy Pork had a good kick to it, just enough to be interesting without being overwhelming. The mix of pork, rice, and vegetables was well-balanced, so my taste buds stayed intact.
My buddy's Beef Bulgogi was also good, but the more pronounced flavor of the spicy pork would be the thing to get, in my opinion.
It was priced fine; I think it was like $13 for a bowl, which is pretty solid and kind of coming in right below average, I'd say, on price.
So, it's affordable for a lunch price on Delmar.
K-Bop STL Atmosphere And Miscellaneous
The vibes in at K-Bop are pretty nice. It's nice, open, and chill.
You grab water from a water fountain and, on the day we visited, they had a complimentary specialty tea available. I'm not a big tea guy. I share Ted Lasso's opinion that tea generally tastes like hot garbage water.
This tea was more like sweet hot garbage water, so not my favorite, but a nice offering nonetheless. My buddy, an actual tea drinker, enjoyed it.
It's always nice to try something a little extra when dining around town.
Parking At K-Bop
Parking was super easy. There's a dedicated lot right off of Delmar, which makes parking super easy. It's only for K-Bop and a couple of other restaurants that are right there.
There's usually plenty of parking on Delmar, but no concerns at K-Bop.
